ACA Cycling Skills Clinics
New Program Features and Dates for 2008 Season

ACA skills clinic programs provide participants who complete the 2 hour clinic the opportunity to receive 4 upgrade points.

Bike handling skills will be the focus of the clinics taught by professional cycling coaches. Close-proximity riding, braking, cornering and pace line skills will also be covered.

Formal registration for teams and individuals will be available at Active.com. The cost of the clinic is $30 for ACA members and $40 for non-ACA members.

Scheduled Clinics

May 10th Women's Mountain Bike Skills Clinic, Jefferson County.

For beginner, recreational and advanced Women cyclists.

Learn:

• Proper body position and Balance Zones
• Braking
• cornering
• How to Load and Unload for obstacles
• Leaning the Bike, Your Body or Both
• Small obstacles
• How to read the trail

May 17th Road Cycling Skills Clinic at Wheels of Thunder, Golden

The women's cycling skills clinics will focus on "basic" bike handling skills:

• Riding straight lines
• Riding in close proximity
• Braking
• Cornering and cornering at speed

While these skills are "basic" they are ones that most cyclists have never practiced nor had instruction.
